The Asian doll has arrived!

Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 at 5:46 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016.

In a brief press conference at the airport, the 6th Filipina Miss International said " I came back with the crown I promised you. I did this all for the Philippines".

Kylie Verzosa was named 2016 Miss International in the coronation held at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan on October 27th.

Ann Lorraine Colis, Ready to Pass On the MISS GLOBE Crown

The globe will have a new queen on November 25, and Ann Lorraine Colis is soaking in every moment she has left with the diamond-clad crown that comes with it.

The Pampanga beauty is now in Albania for upcoming duties and activities as a reigning titleholder of the Miss Globe organization.

On October 8, 2015 at the Rose Theatre Brampton in Toronto, Canada, Colis  crowned as Miss Globe 2015. Ann will pass on her title on November 25 in Tirana Albania. This year's edition will be the 43rd wherein all candidates will spend over a week in the eastern Europe’s Balkan Peninsula starting November 13th.

Gustavo Acevedo is Mister Supranational Venezuela 2016!

Gustavo Acevedo finished as 2nd Runner Up at the 2016 Mister Venezuela pageant on May 28, 2016.

He is 19 years old, and works as a model and TV host. He is also a student of medicine from Caracas and placed in the Top 3 of Mister Venezuela 2016. He will compete in Mister Supranational 2016 on December 3rd in the city of Krynica-Zdrój, Poland.

Over 40 gougeous men  from around the world will fly in the beautiful city of Krynica-Zdrój, Poland on December 3rd. The show will be broadcasted in over 30 countries and the winner will get 10,000 USD in cash plus a modeling contract in Europe.

Meet the 119 souls hoping to become the new Miss World!

A bunch of beautiful individuals will compete in Miss World 2016 challenger segments : Talent, Top Model, Multimedia, Sports, beauty with a Purpose and a new segment called Resort Wear.

The winner will be crowned on 18 December 2016 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, National Harbor, Washington, D.C., Maryland, United States. This will be the second time that the United States will host the pageant. Mireia Lalaguna of Spain will crown her successor at the end of the big event.

Michelle Aldana Likely to Co-Host Miss Asia Pacific International 2016

Miss Asia Pacific 1993 Michelle Aldana might co-host Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 Finals on November 24th.

Michelle who is now based in South Africa took to her instagram that the organization has invited her to co-host the oldest pageant in Asia.



Michelle Zulueta Aldana graduated at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines with a Bachelor of Arts degree in European Language. Michelle had done films namely “Ikaw ang Miss Universe ng Buhay Ko,” “Ober da Bakod,” “Ang Pinakamagandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa,” “Hawak Ko ang Buhay Mo,” “Estranghero,” “Hindi Pa Tapos ang Laban,” and the sexiest of them all — “Segurista.” At the peak of her acting career, she decided to move to Germany and married Christoph Heinermann, unfortunately she's now separated with her husband.

Presently, Michelle is now an actress in South Africa, where she played in one of tv series entitled “The Wild.” She also plays an active role in the country's Philippine Embassy in South Africa.

Launched in 1968, Miss Asia Pacific International was originally a regional pageant known as Miss Asia Quest with 18 participating countries.
After a decade-long of silence, Miss Asia Pacific International will be held in Manila and Palawan from November 14-24, 2016.

Catalina Cáceres is Miss Universe CHILE 2016

Miss Universe Chile 2016 is Catalina Cáceres! This 26-year-old 5'9" tall will represent the country at the upcoming Miss Universe 2016 in Manila, Philippines.

Catalina joined her first pageant at "Nuestra Belleza Chile" in 2014 and won her first beauty queen title. After 2 months, she won Miss Earth Chile 2014 and flew to the Philippines to compete in Miss Earth 2014 but unfortunately she was unplaced. After Miss Earth, she was also the winner of Miss Eco Chile 2015 and competed at Miss Eco 2015 pageant wherein she  placed fourth and also won the Best in National Costume award.

Catalina succeeds Miss Universe Chile 2015 Maria Belen Jerez Spuler, and will now represent the South American country at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant to be held on 30th January 2017 in the Philippines.

Chile has one Miss Universe queen through Cecilia Bolocco who titled Miss Universe 1987.

Li Zhenying is Miss Universe China 2016

Miss Universe China 2016 is Li Zhenying from Hunan. Li Zhenying succeeded Jessica Xue, Miss Universe China 2015. and will now have the rights to represent mainland China at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant to be held in the Philippines.  .

This 6'1" stunner defeated 15 other delegates at the crowning event held on November 12th. 
During pageant week, candidates travelled to Bangkok for different photoshoots and  fashion shows.

The highest placement of China in the Miss Universe happened in 2002 when Zhuo Ling became second runner-up to Oxana Fedorova.

Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 | THE DELEGATES

The race for Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 crown has officially begun.  After being postponed for long years, the beauty competition will take place in Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on November 23, 2016.

The press presentation and national costume competition will be held at the Manila Pavilion Hotel on Nov. 17 while the Talent competition will occur at Villamor Golf Club on Nov. 18. Finals to be aired on GMA 7 and Star World.

The pageant begun as the Miss Asia Quest in 1968, the pioneer in international pageantry in Asia, and later renamed as Miss Asia Pacific in 1984 to accommodate Pacific-rim countries in the Americas as well. In 2004, it became global by accepting women from Europe, Africa, and other countries outside the pageant’s boundaries and called Miss Asia Pacific International.

Miss Universe Poland 2016 is IZABELLA KRZAN

21-year-old Economics student Izabella Krzan is Miss Universe Poland 2016. She will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2016 to be held in the Philippines in January 2017.

Izabella hails from Olsztyn and currently studying Economics at Warsaw University of Life Sciences. Krzan won the Miss Polonia which was held after a four years of hiatus. The last pageant was held in 2012 and the title went to Pauline Krupinska, after four years she passed the crown to her successor Izabella.

At the same crowning event, Dominika Szymanska was declared as the first runner-up while Katarzyna Wlodarek placed as the second runner-up.

Poland has only placed five times at the Miss Universe pageant:
Brygida Elżbieta Bziukiewicz, 1986 & Joanna Gapińska Miss Poland, 1986 both placed third runner-up, the highest placement for Poland at the Miss Universe pageant.
Alicja Bobrowska,  the first delegate from Poland in was placed fourth runner-up in 1958.
Zuzanna Cembrowska in 1959 & Marcelina Zawadzka in 2012 entered the top 15.

Vincent Jarina : PH Bet for MISTER ASIAN 2016

Vincent Jarina is Philippines' representative for the inaugural edition of Mister Asian 2016 which will take place in Manado, Indonesia on November 14-20, 2016. He clinched Misters of Filipinas 2016's Mister Asian Philippines 2016 last September at the Newport Performing Arts of Resorts World Manila.

Towering at 6'2" tall, 20-year-old Vincent is basketball player from Trinity University of Asia in Negros Occidental and he is taking up Business Administration.

Mister Asian is formerly Mister Southeast Asian but later renamed as Mister Asian to accomodate countries outside Southeast Asia. To win Mister Asian, contestants will participate in 4 challenge events, prejudging interview and a final stage show. Another of the challenge events is Multimedia. Contestants are judged on their charisma, presentation, interactivity and their ability to interact with a global audience.

Kylie Verzosa's Victory Parade Route and Schedule | Miss International

Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa is now home and event organizers have provided her detailed grand homecoming parade schedule. The long wait is over for Filipinos who want to warmly welcome the 6th Filipina Miss International with the crown! At last, we will see Kylie wearing the actual crown on her head.

Her grand homecoming parade is scheduled on Friday, November 18th and it will be held around the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City, at 4PM.

The parade will pass through the ff routes:
Start from Novotel Hotel, right to Gen. McArthur, right EDSA, right to Aguinaldo, left at McArthur, then right at Romulo, right P. Tuazon, right at Time Square, then left at Gen. McArthur, right at Araneta, right at Roxas, then right at Aguinaldo, and end of parade at Novotel.

Motorists and the public are advised to expect heavy traffic in these areas and to take alternate routes.
Another victory parade will be held in her hometown of Baguio City on November 26.

65th Miss Universe in the Philippines : Signed, Sealed, Delivered!

Miss Universe Organization, the Department of Tourism, and official sponsors signed a partnership contract on Wednesday, November 16th, to the staging of the 65th Miss Universe pageant in the Philippines on January 30, 2017.

"The Philippine government will not spend anything for the pageant. It's all private sector," Shawn McClain, Vice President of Business Development and Marketing of the Miss Universe Organization

The event was hosted by Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup-Lee. This really confirms that in less than 2 months, the biggest beauty event will happen for the third time in the Philippines!

Not 5 AM; 65th Miss Universe Pageant will start at 8AM

Rain or shine the event will start at 8AM.

Prior to the first released statement that the 65th Miss Universe pageant will be held at 5 AM, the Miss Universe committee reveals yesterday during Pageant's Media Launch that the final start time of Monday's event will happen at 8 AM and will end by 11 AM.

It will be held morning here in the Philippines to allow network in the United States to televise the pageant live in prime time.

Last time the "5AM statement" of DOT Secretary Wanda Teo caused stir online as netizens were not thrilled about the scheduled time. Some parody twitter accounts were asking if the pageant will either be a fun run or simbang gabi.
Hopefully, President Duterte will also issue an Executive Order declaring January 30 (which falls on Monday) as a non-working holiday in the country.

During 1994 Miss Universe pageant, it was held at approximately 8:00 in the beautiful morning in the Philippines.

Catriona Gray's Designer Dress will be a Francis Libiran Creation

"Miss World 2016 contestants from all corners of the globe will showcase some of the finest couture pieces from their home countries at the Miss World Fashion Designer Dress event. Each year, designers, ranging from high-end couturiers to talented family members clamour at the opportunity to dress Miss World contestants, and at the end of the event, the garment deemed as the most beautiful wins the coveted Miss World - World Designer Dress Award" the organisation said in a statement.

The 2016 Miss World contestants will take part in the World Fashion Designer Dress Event, a special part of the beauty pageant. Contestants will showcase their designer dresses in a catwalk show. A panel of Miss World judges will select the top ten designer dresses. One of these 10 Miss World contestants will win the pageant's fashion designer award.

"I wanted to create a gown that reflected her—a Filipina who wanted to bring glory to her country. I also wanted the gown to reflect the simplicity of Megan Young—the simplicity of Filipinos. We are known for being simple yet exquisite. The gown, if I may say so myself, show these qualities, a beauty with a purpose" 


Catriona is representing the Philippines at Miss World 2016. It will be the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant. It will be held on 18th of December 2016 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, National Harbor in Maryland, United States, just south of Washington, D.C. Mireia Lalaguna of Spain will crown her successor at the end of the event. This will be the second time that the United States will host the pageant.

Kylie Verzosa and her Lovely Lobster Gown

Here's a little fashion trivia on Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza's now infamous "Lobster" gown which a lot of pageant fans poked fun about it..seeing the gown as fashion disaster...ignorantly not realizing the high profile background of it's inspiration.

In the 1930s, Wallis Simpson (Duchess of Windsor, an American socialite. Wife of Prince Edward, Duke of Windsor, formerly King Edward VIII) was a frequent subject of Cecil Beaton’s photographs.
Before Wallis's marriage to the Duke of Windsor in May 1937, Cecil Beaton was asked to take some official photographs of the bride-to-be at the Château de Candé, where she was staying as a guest. Since many of the past photographs of Simpson were unflattering, Beaton had a bright idea and suggested more romantic-looking pictures, including an image of her standing in the château’s garden wearing the SCHIAPARELLI LOBSTER DRESS.

The infamous lobster dress was a design collaboration with Salvador Dalí that grew out of the lobsters that started appearing in the artist’s work in 1934. Beaton took almost a hundred photographs during the session with Simpson, and Vogue devoted an eight-page spread to the results.
This Lobster dress is said to be a high fashion dress that only socialite women can wear. So for those who are curious and criticizing why our Miss International wore a lobster dress during in her presscon, this info will help a lot..And since Kylie is Miss International, a Japan based Org, expect for a more simple yet elegant dress that our Queen will wear during her reign.

This is what we are looking in Miss Philippines' national costume for international stage!

An Ati-Atihan-inspired National Costume designed by Patrick Isorena for Miss Supranational Philippines 2016 Joanna Eden. When one talks of Filipiniana, we refer not only to the terno, or baro't saya or Filipiniana costume but also the regional costumes of other places in the Philippines. This is an upgrade! Love it!

The Miss Supranational 2016 finals will take place on December 2 in the spa resort city of Krynica Zdroj in Poland.

Maricar Balagtas : "Beaukonera" of Bulacan

Maricar Balagtas is the first Asian woman to win the Miss Globe International title in 2001 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Miss Globe International and Miss Globe Pageant are both founded by Charlie See but with different organizers.

Maricar Balagtas is pageant veteran  from Plaridel, Bulacan. She won Bb. Bulakan 2000 and after winning the provincial pageant, beauty maker Rodgil Flores (now Kagandahang Flores boss) encouraged her to join Binibining Pilipinas.

It took Maricar three times to win the right to represent the Philippines in Miss Universe.
In 2000, 17-year-old Maricar was Miss Close Up Smile but unplaced. In 2001, she bagged Best in Swimsuit award and eventually hailed as second runner-up. During that year also, Bb. Pilipinas head Stella Marquez-Araneta handpicked Maricar to represent the Philippines for Miss Globe International Pageant in Istanbul, Turkey. She won Best in National Costume award and named as the first Asian delegate to win the international pageant.

After her stint in Turkey, she flew to Lebanon in 2002 for Model of the World search where she was named as one of the five semifinalists and won the Best in Evening Gown.

This 5'8 Bulakenya tried for the 3rd time in Binibining Pilipinas and finally won the title of Miss Universe Philippines in 2004.
She represented the Philippines in the 2004 Miss Universe pageant in Quito, Ecuador but unplaced.

December 2 marks as an important day for the pageant community as 74 candidates competing in Miss Supranational 2016 were revealed.

Poland and the Slovak Republic will be sharing  of hosting this year’s Miss Supranational pageant. Miss Supranational 2016 finals will be held on December 2nd 2016 in the spa resort city of Krynica Zdroj, Poland. The reigning Miss Supranational, Stephania Stegman of Paraguay, will crown her successor at the end of 3-hour event. Who's your favorites? Pre-Arrival picks?
