24-year-old Rahima Ayla Dirkse from Rotterdam was crowned Miss Nederland 2018 at a crowning gala held on July 9, 2018 at the AFAS Circustheater, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. Rahima succeeded last year's queen Nicky Opheji and will now represent at the Miss Universe 2018 competition.

She is a student of biopharmaceutical sciences and works on her aunt's clothing store.

21-year-old Selma Kamanya from Kavango was crowned Miss Namibia 2018 at a coronation night held on July 7, 2018, at the Windhoek Country Club. She bested 11 other beauties including her court: Clarise van Der Vyver and Kabuba Namukokoba who were first and second runners-up respectively. She succeeded last year's Namibia's representative at Miss Universe pageant Sune January and will represent Namibia at this year's Miss Universe or Miss World pageant.

Selma holds a diploma in economics and is currently a student with no previous experience in pageants.

19-year-old Andrea Szarvas from Vezto was crowned Miss World Hungary 2018.
Andrea bested 15 other gorgeous ladies and succeeded last year's queen Virag Koroknyai. She will now represent Hungary at the prestigious Miss World 2018 pageant set to be held in Sanya, China in December.

Patricia Galambos and Eszter Nikolett Jozsa were first and second runners-up respectively.

Venezuelan beauty queen maker Osmel Sousa seemed supportive of a transgender woman’s right to compete in the Miss Universe pageant. This after Miss Universe Spain 2018 Angela Ponce made history when she became the first transwoman to compete at the Miss Universe pageant.

22-year-old Francesca Mifsud from Zejtun was crowned Miss Universe Malta 2018  at the crowning event held on July 13, 2018 in Hilton Malta. Francesca bested 23 other beauties and succeeded last year's winner Tiffany Pisani. This Law student from the University of Malta will now represent the archipelago of Malta for this year's Miss Universe competition.

25-year-old heptathlon player Dee-Ann Rogers of Anguilla was crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2018  on 14th July 2018 at the Riverfront, Newport. She succeeded last year's Miss Universe semifinalist Anna Burdzy and will now represent Great Britain at the annual Miss Universe competition.

Dee-Ann Rogers, an island girl raised on the British Caribbean island of Anguilla, is a silver medalist in the heptathlon in the Central America and Caribbean Games; a bronze medalist in the Carifta Games and a proud representative for Anguilla in the Commonwealth Games 2014.

25-year-old Indian-born Yashvi Aware was crowned Miss Earth United States 2018 on 14th July 2018 at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall in Virginia. She succeeded last year's queen Andrea Gibau and will now represent the United States at the prestigious Miss Earth 2018 competition.

Yashvi who represented the Midatlantic worked at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research and was being part of the psychological research for the well-being of American soldiers.

Low-cost airline AirAsia has appointed Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach as its new brand ambassadress

The announcement was made during live video on AirAsia Facebook page featuring AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. Pia will help the airline market its product range through various campaigns in the Philippines.

AirAsia is also giving away free flights for one year to participants from a Facebook live chat. Congratulations Pia!

On-anong Homsombath, the first runner-up in last year's Miss Universe Laos, will represent Laos in the 2018 Miss Universe competition after the franchise holder decided not to hold the national pageant this year. Miss Universe Laos Organization (TVLAO HD) has officially appointed On-anong Homsombath as Miss Universe Laos 2018, second Lao woman to compete at the Miss Universe pageant.

Organizers of the Miss Globe competition confirmed on Thursday, June 26, the 2018's edition of the pageant will be held in Tirana, Albania on October 21, 2018. The candidates are set to arrive in the second week of October and will spend from October 9-23 in the country.



Miss Globe is a pageant based in Albania owned by Deliart Association under Petri Bozo.  Khanh Ngan of Vietnam will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Albania is a country in Southeast Europe, bordered by Montenegro to the northwest, Kosovo to the northeast, the Republic of Macedonia to the east, and Greece to the south and southeast.
