Cynthia Menard is Miss World Canada 2017

A 20-year-old stunner from Embrun Cynthia Menard was crowned Miss World Canada 2017 at the grand coronation held at John Bassett Theatre Toronto, Ontario. Cynthia bested 56 other delegates and will now represent Canada at the Miss World 2017 pageant to be held in China on November 18th.

Cynthia is a very caring person as well as an avid listener , she will always be there for those who are in need and enjoys caring for all her entourage. Also crowned at the same event are Canada's representatives for Miss Supranational and Miss Intercontinental pageants: Karema Batotele was named as Miss Supranational Canada 2017 while Mattea Henderson was crowned Miss Intercontinental Canada 2017.

RUMOR MILL : No Miss Venezuela in Miss Universe 2017?

There are rumors circling the pageant community that beauty pageant powerhouse Venezuela won't be sending a delegate for the 66th edition of Miss Universe pageant due to the financial crisis.

According to an article posted at  TVyNovelas website (TVyNovelas is a Mexican magazine published by Editorial Televisa on a monthly basis), Miss Venezuela 2016-2017 Keysi Sayago would not compete in the upcoming edition of Miss Universe as Miss Venezuela Org's Osmel Sousa could not provide franchise payment with MUO.

'In 2003 Mariangel Ruiz was informed that she would not go to the international competition because the national organization could not pay the annuity. The girl did not give up and continued with her training. At the last minute they managed to raise the $ 70,000 needed at that time and Ruiz was able to join the contest. Venezuela is suffering the worst economic crisis in its history.  It may be the biggest political crisis in Venezuela in years and Osmel Sousa's organization has been suffering lately because of difficult economic conditions.

In 2003, Miss Universe First Runner-Up  Mariángel Ruiz almost missed the competition in Panama because of economic crisis. And the pageant world was shocked when beauty maker Osmel didn't send a delegate for Mister World 2016, the first time in Mister World history.

In 2016's Miss Venezuela pageant, the organization only crowned delegates for Miss Universe and Miss International and just appointed Diana Croce as the representative for Miss World 2016 after the national pageant. The organization had been sending Venezuelan beauties for Miss Earth since 2010 but stopped due to problems with funds. The Miss Earth franchise for Venezuela was acquired by Miss Earth 2013 Alyz Henrich.

I highly doubt that the organization won't send Keysi Sayago for Miss Universe 2017 pageant. Miss Universe is the most awaited beauty pageant event in Venezuela and we are sure that they could provide funds, a private sector might be stepping in to help fund the costs of Miss Universe franchising fee. Let's see what's gonna happen next! We hope and pray that conflicts in Venezuela will end soon.

Francy Yurany Castaño Suarez was crowned Miss Grand Colombia 2017. She is 23 years old with the height of 177 cm, a teacher in rural areas teaching Mathematics, Physics and Statistics classes to kids in a region that were affected by the war in Colombia.

She has been working for education in Colombia for the last four years in order to serve the most vulnerable people and victims of war. She believes in a change and social progress and works every day for the construction of peace from her town. As a Colombian woman, she is a cheerful woman, hardworking, with projection.

Francy Yurany Castaño Suarez will represent Colombia at Miss Grand International 2017 to be held in Vietnam this October.

Chiedza Lorraine Mhosva is Miss World ZIMBABWE 2017

Chiedza Lorraine Mhosva was crowned Miss World Zimbabwe 2017 on January 24, 2017 at Borrowdale Brooke Golf Course.

22-year-old Chiedza bested 15 other beauties including Everlyn Njelele who was crowned as the first princess, while second princess Kundai Claire Somerai.
Mhosva is a Film and Acting student at the University of Cape Town and she is not new in the modeling industry as she was once on the ramp and did photo shoots for some fashion shows in Zimbabwe. She walked away with a cash prize of $20 000 and a brand new car.

Chiedza will fly to Singapore and China for the Miss World 2017 competition in November.

Congratulations to the newly crowned Miss Grand United States of America 2017 Taylor Kessler, a 20-year-old brunette. She will now compete at Miss Grand International 2017, to be held on 25th October in Vietnam.

“I am so honored,” Miss Kessler expressed her joy after she was crowned as the winner. Taylor Kessler has an extensive pageant experience, having participated in numerous competitions.
Taylor just completed her graduation from Sam Houston State University. Just after her victory, Kessler thanked her fans for all the support by posting on her Instagram that “I can't believe my dreams come true, I am so extremely blessed to be the Miss Grand United States 2017! Thank you so much to everyone for your love and support I couldn't do anything without you”.

Miss World Kyrgyzstan 2013 Dies Of Rare Type of Cancer at 22

Kyrgyzstan beauty queen Zhibek Nukeeva, who was named Miss World Kyrgyzstan 2013, died after a long battle with cancer of myxoid chondrosarcoma.  It is rare cancer that affects the bones and joints. She was only 22.

She was living in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan but was sent by her family to Turkey, for getting a better treatment. Zhibek 's GoFundMe raised $6,172 for medication but cancer has already spread to other parts of the body.

She leaves behind her devoted husband and her 8-month old son.
Zhibek was Megan Young's batchmate at Miss World 2013 in Bali, Indonesia.

Our prayers and thoughts are with Zhibek Nukeeva's family during this difficult time. Rest in peace.

26-year-old Commerce graduate from Egypt Mostafa Galal Mohammed Elezali was crowned the winner of the inaugural edition of the Man of the World pageant held on 28th July 2017 at One Esplanade in Pasay City, Philippines.

Mostafa triumphed over 27 other contestants including his court:  Vietnam’s Nguyen Huu Long who finished 1st runner-up and Palestine’s Wassim Sahyoun was the 2nd runner-up.

Towering at 6'2" tall, Mustafa or Mostafa took up Commerce majoring in Finance at Alexandria University in Egypt. He worked at Porsche in the administration department in Dubai and joined Dubai Outlet Mall’s Star Hunt 2017 contest where he was named as Mister Congeniality.

He moved out in Dubai to pursue a career in modeling in the Philippines where he signed as one of the official models of SM, the largest chain of shopping malls in the Philippines.

Andreia Gibau of Massachusetts is Miss Earth United States 2017

Massachusetts beauty Andreia Gibau was crowned as Miss Earth United States 2017 in the crowning event held on 5th August 2017 in Virginia. She succeeds last year's Miss Earth Fire 2017 and Miss Earth United States 2016 Corrin Stellakis. 22-year-old Andreia will now represent the United States at this year's Miss Earth pageant to be held in the Philippines on November 4, 2017.

This new earth warrior is fluent in four languages. Andreia works in entertainment/ fashion industry and also teaches self-development to kids. Andreia graduated from St. John’s University with a B.S. in Public Relations. She was also one of Phoenix Magazine’s “30 under 30” for her philanthropic work, making it to their front cover.
