In some sad news at this time, Marita Lindahl , Miss World 1957 from Finland has just passed away at the age of 78 last March 21, 2017.
Miss Finland pageant official Instagram posted:
She died at her home after suffering a seizure. The paramedics tried to revive her for almost an hour but had no success. Lindahl's husband of 50 years shared the sad news to the Finish media. They had one son together.
Martina is the only Finnish to win the Miss World title and the third Scandinavian woman; after Sweden had won the two first contests.
Lindahl was described by Miss World director Eric Morley as having "the haunting beauty and intrigue of a Greta Garbo". She won Miss World crown on October 14, 1957, at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, UK.
