Annie Evans from Auckland was crowned Miss World New Zealand 2017 on June 3, 2017. 19-year-old Annie succeeded last year's winner Karla De Beer and earned the right to represent the country at Miss World 2017 in China.
At the same crowning event, Meghan Kenney and Michelle Isemonger won as first and second runners-up respectively.
New Zealand's highest placement in Miss World pageant was in 1963 and 1997 Elaine Miscall placed first runner-up to Carole Crawford of Jamaica in 1963, while Lauralee Martinovich placed first runner- up to Diana Hayden of India in 1997.
