JOEY MEAD KING is Steve Harvey's co-host for the 2016 edition of Miss Universe pageant to be held at The Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on January 29, (30 PH time) 2017
Asia's Next Top Model Cycles 2 and 3 host took to facebook to announce that she will be hosting the pageant show.
Philippine Department of Tourism head, Secretary Wanda Teo proposed the idea of having a Filipino woman co-host the event to neutralize President Duterte's displeasure of having Steve Harvey as main host of the event. Duterte expressed hesitation on Harvey hosting the event due to Harvey's wrong announcement of winner during Miss Universe 2015. Last year Roselyn Sanchez co-hosted Steve Harvey at Miss Universe 2015.

Joey Mead King is a Filipino-Iranian television personality, fashion lifestyle host, runway coach and is the model mentor/co-judge on popular reality show, Asia's Next Top Model. She was a video jockey for Channel [V] International in Hong Kong from 1996 to 2000. She also co-hosted ABS-CBN Sunday show "ASAP" together with Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres. She appeared on over 30 Philippine magazine covers and has done numerous TV commercials, ad campaigns and magazine covers in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and Indonesia. She has lived and worked in New York as a Ford model and is currently with Ford Los Angeles and San Francisco.
She is considered as one of the best host Miss Earth ever had! She hosted the pageant twice : 2014 and 2015.

Joey is a supporter of animal rights and anti animal cruelty. She moved back to the Philippines in 2007 and married business tycoon and car enthusiast Ian King in November 2011. On July 2, 2016, Ian announced on her Instagram photo that she is a transgender woman, who wishes to be known as Angelina Mead King.
Did you know that Joey Mead screened for Binibining Pilipinas 2001? BPCI disqualified her because of citizenship, FHM and overage issues during that time.
