Miss Philippines Earth Water 2016 /Second runner-up Loren Mar Artajos is the new Miss Philippines Earth 2016 following Imelda Schweighart's resignation, the Carousel Productions announced.
Kiara Giel Hamlig Gregorio, Miss Philippines Earth Air 2016, was supposed to take over the throne but she will not be able to come back in the Philippines because she went to enroll at a university in London. Gregorio, a law student, said she was not sure if she would be able to fulfill Schweighart's remaining obligations because she has a scholarship with the University of Westminster in UK.
Loren, a registered nurse from Laoag City, was named Miss Earth Philippines 2016 as Carousel Productions president Ramon Monzon made the announcement at a party for Miss Earth 2016 winners at the Oakwood Hotel in Pasig City.
