Miss International Queen Philippines Organization held their Press Conference on 28th August at the Aquila Crystal Palace. It was a very grand and COVID-19 safety protocols affair that kickstarted the chain of events that will lead to the finale and the crowning of the very first Miss International Queen Philippines.
To strictly observe health and safety protocols amid the ongoing pandemic, swab testing was conducted and only selected pageant media members were allowed to board in the venue, while others participated virtually via Zoom application.
The event started with the host actor and brand ambassador, CJ Reyes, who welcomed everyone to the media launch, talked about the prestigious Miss International Queen and then went on to invite the key persons of the organization : Miss International Queen 2006 1st Runner-Up Patricia Montecarlo, Miss International Queen 2004 2nd Runner-up Christina Dandan, Catriona Gray's main stylist & MIQ 2013 alumna Justine Aliman, Philantrophist & MIQPh Producer Jing Lumaban and CEO/ National Director /Miss International Queen alumna Michelle Montecarlo.
First Pinay Miss Internationally Queen Kevin Balot, Miss International Queen 2020 Valentina Fluchaire, Miss International Queen 2020 alumna Jessa Labares, Miss International Queen Organization President Alisa Phanthusak Kunpalin and Tiger Songer of Tiffany's Pattaya also graced the event via zoom.
Ms. Michelle Montecarlo then went on to address the members of the press about the basic details of the organization and then she talked about the schedule of events leading up to the coronation night through a presentation that she had prepared.
The first ever MIQPh titleholder will receive P300,000.00 in cash prize, P500,000.00 in gift packages, plus the MIQP crown designed by God diamonds and round-trip tickets to Bangkok. The main winner will be competing at the Miss International Queen 2022 competition in Pattaya, Thailand. The First Runner-Up will get P100,000.00 in cash plus P500,000.00 gift packages, while the Second Runner-Up will be handed with a P50,000.00 cash prize and 500k gift packages.
The first edition will be taking place under theme " World Equality". Out of hundreds applicants,only 25 transpinays will remain in the competition for the much-awaited 1st coronation night of the pageant on November 28 ( venue tba).
"Umasa po kayo na we would be staging, a fair, a just, friendly, safe and pang world class pageant", MIQ National director Michelle Montecarlo also said that she is excited for a Filipina transwoman to take home the much coveted international crown again. The last time the Philippines won MIQ was in 2015 through Trixie Maristela.
