Dia Nicole Mancao Magno, 24, a graduate of Interdisciplinary Studies (with trackings in Psychology and Communications) at Ateneo de Manila University. She was born in Butuan City on April 11, 1994. Dia has played for UAAP for the Ateneo Lady Shuttlers and has been cited as no. 1 player. She has also played with the national team and represented the country at the Southeast Asia Games in Jakarta in 2011.
She also said that, “I’ve watched the Miss Universe Pageant since Venus Raj blazed into the finals in 2010 and never missed the annual pageant since then. It has become my dream to follow their footsteps and I look up to our winners especially Catriona Gray. “I also see the pageant as a very effective platform to foray my advocacies. At this point in my life, you may think I have all I that wanted in life. But I also have a passion to be of service to others – a passion I share with my family.”, she added.
She’s a woman who is determined and who always perseveres in life. At young age she rank no.1 in the Philippines doubles category under PBaRS(Phil. Badminton Ranking Association) and was able to represent our country in South East Asian Games. Aside from being a sport enthusiast she is an Entrepreneur by profession. Using her knowledge and skills her advocacy is helping the young Filipinos to engage in Sports by opening sports clinics to be able for them to develop the sense of discipline and nationalism.
