H’Hen Niê, a 25-year-old model from Đắk Lắk Province, was crowned Hoa hậu Hoàn vũ Việt Nam 2017 on January 6, 2018, in Diamond Bay Condotel and Resort in Nha Trang. She will now represent Vietnam at the Miss Universe 2018 competition. H’Hen bested 41 other beauties and was crowned by Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 Phạm Hương. The last time Vietnam placed at the pageant was in 2008 through Nguyen Thuy Lam's Top-15 finish.
